This week we are reading the story "The Ballad of Valentine" by Alison Jackson.An ardent suitor tries various means of communication, from smoke signals to Morse code to skywriting, in order to get his message to his Valentine. 

Our every child ready to read theme this month is Vocabulary.  Knowing the names of things. As you talk to your child you are helping to develop their vocabulary.

Our story this week is Countdown to Valentine's Day by Jodi Huelin.  From ten colored valentines to one special kiss, readers will be delighted as they count their way through this brightly colored shaped paperback. Following a young child on Valentine's Day, this interactive book will not only reinforce counting skills, but its simple text will encourage solo reading. This holiday book is sure to be a hit with children and parents alike! 

Our every child ready to read theme is Vocabulary.  Knowing words.  Talk to your child no matter what age they are.  Children are sponges.  The more you  to your child the sooner your child will speak.
